‘Melbourne’s soul/pop prodigy’ – Amber MicÂ
Elisha is a soul and blues inspired passion project based in Naarm (Melbourne) fronted by Australian songstress Elisha Labriola. Since discovering she could sing at a young age, music has become her vocation.Â
Debuting her sweet and soulful voice onto Melbourne’s independent music scene in 2018, Elisha has been captivating audiences with her sound, while also displaying a great talent for song writing.Â
‘My songs a basically a diary entry. Everything I write about is personal to me. Sometimes that can be scary because when people listen to my music they are getting a glimpse of my sadness, love and joys.’Â
After supporting acts like Karise Eden (winner of The Voice) Kosmoblu, Lace De Bridge and many more, she released the ultimate break up song and her debut single ‘Better Without You’ in 2020. With pop, jazz and blues elements, ‘Better Without You’ displays Elisha’s talent for composition while also getting stuck in your head for days on end.Â
‘I wrote the chords for ‘Better Without You’ in about ten minutes. For a while I didn’t do anything with them, but every time I sat down at the piano I kept coming back to the progression. Months later I broke up with a guy I had been seeing and lyrics just kept coming to me. Before I knew it I had birthed my debut single.’Â
Since then she has performed at some of Melbourne’s most prominent music venues; including The Night Cat, Bar Open, The Workers Club, The Grace Darling, Old Bar and more. Elisha continues to captivate audiences the sultry soul and pop music she is now known for.Â
Over the constant covid lockdowns, Elisha has been writing and refining a collection of songs to bring to Melbourne’s independent music scene in 2022, with her latest single ‘My Beauty’ set to be released in July. ‘My Beauty’ is a sultry soul anthem that is set to empower you when you need it most.Â
‘My Beauty’ is a love letter I wrote to myself. It talks about just releasing all that tension and doubt and being free to love yourself. I think I wrote it as a reminder to myself so every time I hear it I remember how important having a healthy version of yourself in you mind is.’Â
‘My Beauty’ is part of a larger body of work being a 5 track EP. The ‘My Beauty’ EP is set to be released in August featuring songs composed from 2017-2021.Â
‘This EP features some of my most vulnerable and intimate moments. It’s so nerve wracking to think about it being out in the world but I can’t wait to give you a glimpse into myself’Â
To celebrate the release of her debut EP Elisha is embarking on her first ever tour, with shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Mornington Peninsula and Daylesford.Â
