DRIFT Arts Festival is seeking artists, creative practitioners and venues to present works in the April 2023 festival.DRIFT is the Mornington Peninsula’s annual festival of art, music and celebration and is returning for its second year, from 21 April – 30 April 2023. DRIFT is a platform for emerging, mid-career and established artists to present their work to new audiences. Through delivery of this festival, we aim to nurture and support our creative sector, and further contribute to our reputation as the Creative Peninsula. The first edition of the festival in April this year delivered 87 events in 11 days, to over 20,000 audience members. Artists, arts organisations and venues are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest. If you have a creative idea – we’d love to hear about it. We invite participation from artists and creative practitioners of all disciplines, including performance, music, visual arts, film, public art installations, multimedia and projections, writing and literature, and multidisciplinary practice. Through DRIFT, the Mornington Peninsula Shire aims to produce, enable and support new and diverse works, develop audiences, create opportunities and employment for local artists and arts workers, and reflect our unique Mornington Peninsula environment and identity. All submissions to participate as an artist or venue in the festival will be reviewed by an assessment panel to ensure alignment with the festival’s core values. Events must be delivered within the Mornington Peninsula Shire Local Government Area. Expressions of Interest are open until Friday 9 December, 2022.
