In 2015 The Midwayers was born from lead singer Brendon Mellere. Brendon Mellere first began to work on The Midwayers while still performing in other bands.
In 2015 The Midwayers recorded the track “All on me” to be the first introduction to the concept. While the song had never taken off, it still gained valuable listeners for the band. The song gained The Midwayers a place on the Tanglewood festival over new years eve 2015/16.
The Midwayers are currently working on the release of their debut album “Seasons Vol.1”. A concept album that will have quarterly releases every 3 months, beginning with the first part “Spring Vol.1” in September 2016. Since the release of “All on me” The Midwayers have gone through some member changes, and Brendon Mellere had decided to venture out to collaborating on the album with whom ever he is surrounded by at the time, allowing for an in the moment kind of creation.
Between his time with previous projects and starting “The Midwayers” project Brendon Mellere actually spent a brief amount of time out of the music scene taking care of his family. Money pressures and lack of career had got the best of him, and led to a destructive life.
Brendon Mellere stated that these experiences helped him gain the awareness needed to really decide where he wanted to go with his music. His life experiences are sprinkled all through the coming album, from songs that he has had hidden from as early as 2006. While the sound of “Spring Vol.1” is similar to the work done by previous bands, it brings a different message through more meaningful lyrics. For instance the single “Little Flame” from “Spring Vol.1” talks about the realisation of becoming a father and knowing the pressures of such influence we can bring to a child’s life.
“The Midwayers” are mainly a studio band, but with each release contributing to the “Seasons Vol.1” album there will be a month of shows to promote and release the CD, supported by fantastic musicians that have been involved in the album recording.
